  • Performance Reviews: This feature helps HR build, schedule, submit and store reviews of employees. Users can choose from pre-existing questions or create custom questions tailored according to their organization.  
  • Vacation Management: Time off restrictions limit the number of users who can book time off on the same day. Administrators can set limits per office, department, time off type or in a specific combination. They can also set a date range for when each restriction will be active. Employees can access their own leave data anywhere, anytime, and request extral vacation time for overtime hours.  
  • Reminders and Alerts:  Managers can easily stay informed with automatic alerts that are sent whenever an employee is scheduled to work and is late by more than a preset number of minutes. Managers also receive an email notification when the timecard is submitted. This tool ensures timecards are approved on time and absences or incomplete days do not go unnoticed. 
  • Time Clock:  Managers can manage arrival, departure and total hours worked and always have a snapshot in real time of who is inside and who is outside the workplace. The “who’s in” screen offers visualization on staff attendance by presenting information on absent, late, on vacation or on a sick leave employees. The feature allows setting grace periods, auto-deducting lunch hours, creating user schedules, setting IP restrictions and letting managers add missed punches on employees’ behalf. 
  • Timesheet: Users can prepare weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly or custom timesheets. They can choose from three different formats that provide greater levels of control, including automatic calculations and the option to add time towards tasks, projects and clients. Additionally, managers can set overtime rules and edit timesheets to eliminate back and forth changes.

Managers can view employee profiles, keep contact details of the entire workforce and track salary changes. Additionally, they can search employees by job title, department, location and name using a staff directory.  
  • Reporting: This function enables users to receive in-depth and automated reports on talent whenever required. Reports can be exported to PDF or CSV for easy sharing. Data can be retrieved and integrated via API to generate reports or create widgets. 
  • Onboarding:  Users can ensure a smooth transition for new hires by creating custom onboarding templates, and assigning and tracking tasks. 
  • Core HR: This module manages internal culture through notifications about employee accomplishments, birthdays or anniversaries so managers can celebrate special events with the staff. 
  • Warnings: Users can eliminate the need for paper warnings with online stored warnings and infractions. HR can choose to have all warnings preapproved and state the consequences before they can be sent to the employees. From the creation to the final digital signature, emails are sent to all involved parties to keep them in the loop and make next steps clear. Additional features include custom violation and action types, privacy options on comments, and the ability to hide certain sections within a warning. 

Limitations

User feedback indicates the following limitations of PurelyHR, as of the time of this review:

  •  The timesheet does not have customizable rows for different projects or grants. 
  •  Limited data can be put into time off comments. 
  •  It takes a long time to input all information required to set up the software. There is no method to import all data through an Excel sheet.
